Global Inulin Shortage from Chicory Root Source

This year has seen a decreased Chicory Root fibre harvest- from which Inulin is derived- presenting formulation hurdles for the food and beverage Industry.

Compared to last year, the chicory harvest has decreased both in volume and inulin yield.

Inulin production and availability is limited from EU sourced Chicory crops.

A mega drought in Chile has also contributed to the drastically reduced harvest volumes.
